Course Description

(2235 Total Yards, Par 37)

No. 1: A straight shot over the first of two ponds, one is immediately introduced to hickory golf.  The green to this 226 yard, par 4, lies just over the crest of a gentle swelling.

No. 2: Considered by many to be our most difficult hole, this 322 yard, par 5, plays from the entrance of Oakhurst to just below the clubhouse. With a dog-leg to the right and a narrow fairway, keeping the ball in sight is paramount. Don't worry if you do not par this hole, for the record of highest number of shots for a hole at Oakhurst was achieved by a tournament player on no. 2. The number of shots was 28.

No. 3: The only par 3 on our course, this 106 yard hole is deceivingly difficult. One must carry a small valley and bunker to reach this green. A drive just a bit to the right will land you in the second pond on Oakhurst Links.

No. 4: Playing 291 yards, this par 4 might have a straight fairway, but the slope of the land is a relentless challenge the entire hole. A dog-leg right leads to the green, but no relief is awarded yet. The green is flanked with a bunker to the left and an unforgiving treeline along the back.

No. 5: The view from this 235 yard, par 4 tee box is breath-taking, but a straight, strong drive is a must. Driving from the side of a hill, one must carry the hill, avoid fading to the right (and out of Oakhurst property) and stay clean of the bunkers to the left of the green.

No. 6: Finally a breather is afforded on this flat, straight, 269 yard, par 4. Relax and enjoy your walk down this fairway to the green that is garded by two bunkers around the front.

No. 7: Your drive must be far and sure to clear the trees standing sentinel at the tee to this 251 yard, par 4. After a successful drive, the straight and flat fairway with an unbunkered green is a refreshing hole.

No. 8: The second of our two par 5 holes, this 356 yard, dog-leg right is as challenging as any our course offers. First, one must avoid the family of bunkers to the right when teeing off. A slopeing down treeline borders the fairway along the right side. To reach the green, one must have accuracy or the 5 bunkers that ushers one to the green will capture your ball.

No. 9: This par 4, 179 yard hole truly will test one's drive. Following along the right of the tee is a very unforgiving rough. Not only does one have to avoid the rough on the right, but must also carry the gravel path that cuts across the hole. The strategy does not stop there, as one must also play up a gradually slopeing hill fortified with rough and bunkers to the left. Upon finding the fairway, one must play a dog-leg to the left, and clear the bunkers infront of the green.
